This Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 Targa is a 1975 model-year example. It was delivered through MAHAG in Munich in September 1974 and first registered on 11 October 1974.

The car’s original specification is particularly appealing: Mexico Blue exterior, black interior, Targa roof and a 5-speed manual transmission. According to the Porsche Certificate, only 187 examples of this model were produced for the 1975 model year. The car is accompanied by its original Porsche birth certificate and corresponding Porsche Certificate as part of its extensive documentation.

The Carrera underwent a complete restoration by AP Car Design and was fully dismantled down to the bare body shell. The body was sandblasted, all seals were renewed, and the Targa bar, roof, glazing and numerous exterior components were extensively refurbished or replaced.

The restoration went far beyond cosmetics. The 2.7-litre engine was completely dismantled, inspected and comprehensively rebuilt. Among other components, the bearings, intake and exhaust valves, valve guides and seats, piston rings, fuel lines and numerous other parts were renewed. The fuel injection pump, distributor, alternator and starter motor were also fully overhauled.

The 5-speed transmission was completely dismantled and rebuilt, with the bearings, synchronizer rings and bushings renewed. The suspension, steering and axles were also comprehensively rebuilt. Bilstein dampers are fitted, together with refurbished original Fuchs wheels in 7- and 8-inch widths.

The interior was also completely refurbished as part of the restoration. The seats were re-padded and reupholstered in leather, the instruments were overhauled, and new carpets, door panels and various other trim components were fitted. The Targa roof was also completely dismantled and rebuilt.

The result is not simply a cosmetically enhanced classic, but a comprehensively restored Porsche. Since completion of the restoration, the car has covered only approximately 3,413 kilometres and therefore presents in exceptionally fresh, near-new condition. The restoration is thoroughly documented by an extensive appraisal report and comprehensive photographic records.

The 911 Carrera 2.7 is one of the most exciting models of the early G-Series. Its Type 911/83 engine produces 210 hp from 2,653 cc, combining the classic lightweight 911 concept with remarkably spirited performance for its era.

This Carrera Targa impresses not only with its rare colour combination and exceptionally comprehensive restoration. It is also a Porsche that was built to be driven and enjoyed – direct, agile and with precisely the mechanical character for which these early Carrera models are so highly regarded today.
